She prides herself in creating curricula tailored to the needs of each of her students, with the aim of teaching her students not only to play cello, but to love music. Lizzie Karr and the Meteor Shower

Eve integrates her classical background with the freedom of improvisation in her collaboration with Austin based pop/rock artist Lizzie Karr. Eve contributes her cello playing and vocals to Lizzie's beautiful tunes about love, heartbreak, and good times with friends. Lizzie Karr and the Meteor Shower perform frequently in venues around Austin.

MaracatuTX

Maracatu Texas is an Austin based percussion ensemble who perform traditional music and rhythms from the state of Pernambuco in Brazil. Maracatu music is historically rooted in the religion of slaves and indigenous peoples in Brazil, and their resistance against the Portuguese nobility in Brazil. In MaracatuTX, Eve plays the xequerê (a shaker made of a hollow water gourd, surrounded by a net of beads); alfaia (wooden bass drum); and snare drum. MaracatuTX frequently performs at the Sahara Lounge, at shows celebrating Brazilian holidays, and at local festivals. Eve has also performed with MaracatuTX leading protest marches in Austin, such as the 2017 Women's March, the March for our Lives (advocating the end to gun violence), Black Lives Matter marches, and marches to promote environmental preservation and the end of gentrification. Eve enjoys the opportunity to expand her knowledge of world culture and history, to be a politically active member of her community, and to experience playing interesting new rhythms on a non-cello instrument!

Kaleidoscopes for Violin

Kaleidoscopes for Violin is a book series that delivers a comprehensive and engaging method to teach violin to young children in a straightforward, sensible, and delightful way by blending Montessori, Kodaly, and Suzuki teaching techniques. Eve is learning how to be a more effective cello teacher with her work in Kaleidoscopes for Violin and her collaboration with the series author, Elise Winters-Huete.

CHAMPS

Eve began participating in CHAMPS (local nonprofit Chamber Music in Public Schools) when she was a student at age 11, and this first experience of performing beautiful music with three close friends was her first call that music was her passion. She now feels incredibly proud to be on the faculty of CHAMPS, and she is honored to have the chance to inspire the next generation of young musicians in the same way that she was inspired not too many years ago.
